In 2010, The Man Dressed As A Light Bulb appeared in an article about the decline of the traditional light bulb and its impending demise in 2012. The article appeared in Cellar Twenty Four, an online magazine. You can read that article here:

Butter Side Down is a less than ordinary sitcom about The Man Dressed As A Light Bulb's struggle to save the traditional light bulb.
The Man Dressed As A Light Bulb is just a regular guy. He is trying to save the traditional light bulb and he makes exceptional company over a cup of tea. The only irregular thing about him is the fact that he is dressed as a light bulb.
While gathering signatures for his petition one day, he meets Dave (an unhinged pacifist) who invites him into the world of Ronan (A lazy postman) and Darren (A prankster), who has unwittingly invited Jenny (A wannabe wag) and Debbie (A motivated jeweller) into the same world.
Their paths have crossed as they travel their separate roads but this intersection will change their lives forever...

Butter Side Down is a project that I have been working on for almost a year now. What makes this sitcom stand out from others is the inclusion of The Man Dressed As A Light Bulb, an activist trying to save the traditional light bulb from abolition in 2012. The fact that he remains in his light bulb suit for the duration of the show and never reveals his true identity adds an air of charasmatic mystery to Bulby as a character.
I posted an add on www.castingcallpro.com and found some wonderful actors (Jon Campling, Natalie Clark, Joe Kearney, Charlotte Fortune, Damien Hughes and Craig Walker) who really love the project and are anxious to push it forward.
A similar add on www.flimcrewpro.com put me in touch with Chris Quick and Mark Ferguson (www.quickoffthemark.com) who will provide camera and editing skills and are also on standby.
To mix it all together, a Dublin based band called Dead As Doornails agreed to record a custom soundtrack (www.deadasdoornails.com) and are interested in providing a soundtrack for a possible series.

Budget Breakdown
Total £30,000
Costumes for cast and Light Bulb Suit - £5000
(The costumes for 5 members of the cast will just be casuals, either stuff they already own or some of Primark’s best but The Man Dressed As A Light Bulb’s outfit is the biggest focus of the show so I need to splash some cash to ensure that it can really attract attention and it also needs to light up. With this in mind I have approached Rainbow Productions, the folk behind such wonders as the Telly Tubby costumes, who are up for the challenge)
Cast and crew - £15,000
(You may notice that this figure makes up a whole half of my budget, this is because when casting the original animated storyboard I opted for really good actors instead of actors who were just willing to work for free. I think this is what really makes the show. The cast are fantastic and really make the characters jump off the screen. I signed them up with the promise that if I made a live action version, they would get paid)
Locations and props - £5000
(I need a kitchen, access to a street and a number of front doors and a small pub. I will also need props like a rubber shotgun and keep in mind that I have to demolish a wall by firing someone at it from a human cannon)
Travel, food and other small expenses - £1000
(During the shoot, we will need to get to different locations and I will need to feed the crew and cast when we arrive there.)
DVD’S, T-shirts and other perks, plus post and packaging - £2500
(I want to ensure that all the money that you lovely folk have helped me raise, not only goes towards the production but also towards the “perks”)
5% Comission to We Fund - £1500
